As I think about the above statement, I wonder if our community knows what this dream will take. Do our kids really know what it will take for them to be part of the healthiest community in Texas? Even a better question to ponder may be, “What does ‘being the healthiest community in Texas’ look like?”
Let me share with you what it looks like to me…
A community with no drugs, no locks on doors, and no child abuse.
A community where everyone says hello, and car horns are not necessary.
A community where people listen before they speak, have compassion before judgement, and love before hate.
A community where people live to their full health potential, and have no regret for their actions at the end of the day.
