Pretty awesome

Is there anything that can equal the awesomeness that is your innate intelligence?

Think about your first day of life.  Not the day that we call your birthday, I’m talking about the day life actually occurred for you.  A life formed out of union of a sperm and an egg.  From that early union, began life for you. Since then changes continue to occur.  These changes occur mostly with no input from you at all.  In fact without input from you, the changes that occur within you are much more likely to be better, than with your “intellectual” input at all.

To think that we know more than the power that made you, is completely wrong.  As a chiropractor, I watch, and remove interference to that wonderful power that already resides within you.  This allows for the maximal expression of your life.

Listening or Speaking?

It seems to me that more often than not, a person will follow their:

brain instead of their heart
intellect instead of their gut
educated mind instead of their innate mind
other’s opinions instead of their inner wisdom

All too often, we take other’s opinions and agree with whatever sounds good to us at that time. Like a balloon blowing in the wind, whichever gust blows the hardest, is the direction we take. Whomever speaks the loudest gets our attention. Unfortunately, the ones that tend to speak the loudest in the “healthcare” field, are those that have the most money.

I strive to guide my patients to a land of rational thought. The place where you think for yourself. Education is used as a reference point, understanding that there is no substitute to real world testing. We give research and information on health, and let you draw your own conclusion.

I don’t want to perpetuate the follower attitude. I want you to think for yourself. Of course you will know my opinion, and I believe I earn my patient’s trust…however true understanding and change in paradigm, with regards to true healthcare, has to be found on your own.

Drama by the CDC

On West Nile Virus:

Carried by birds and mosquitoes, which have spread it across the entire country, the virus has sickened 30,000 people since it first showed up in the United States in 1999.”

According to that statistic, 2,308 people have been “sickened” by this virus, per year.  Also,

As of Sept. 11, there have been 2,636 cases and 118 deaths reported to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention so far this year.”

What is required for an “Outbreak” designation by the CDC?  Clearly the CDC does not call over 100 deaths an outbreak.  If West Nile Virus is in OUTBREAK, then I would like to add the following to OUTBREAK status::

FDA approved drugs (82,724 deaths per year)

Overdose – prescription opiates

Emergency room visits

Drug violence in Mexico

Harms of prescription drugs

There is only one reason for over reaction by the CDC, and that is money.  Soon there will be a vaccine for West Nile.  Or some other drug that will help “lower the deadly affects of West Nile”.  It’s as simple as this:

  1. Create the problem with over-dramatization of a “deadly virus”.
  2. Provide a solution, with a nominal fee.

Please tell me we are more intelligent, than to go along with all this hype.

trust

It’s hard to do.  Whether we trust someone or something ultimately comes by way of our past experiences.  Let’s use a child as an example.  Not many experiences as of yet, depending on the age, so therefore is presented in front of a thing…..and has no reason to not trust it at all.  Children are the perfect example of blind faith.  If you tell a 2-year-old that there is a monster in the closet….they will believe you.

So, let’s see if we can use trust in our lives regarding our health.  You see, I think a lot of people lose trust in their own body’s potential to be healthy.

For example, you sit down in front of a doctor, for the 5th time, regarding the same symptoms that you had the other 4 times.  Your trust is starting to wane at this point, and rightfully so.

However, if you know what your definitions are, then you can trust the process.  So, what’s your definition of health?  Does health require time?  If so, how much time?  Can getting healthy involve symptoms increasing from time to time?

Wow!  These are a lot of questions.  If you have the right definition of health, the questions actually are not that difficult at all.  More importantly, if you know that you know what health really is, then it is easy to trust the process!

More on my definition of health next time, trust me!

Top shelf

In Texas, when you order a Margarita, the opportunities for that Margarita are endless.  You can order it many different ways, however there will usually be an option for “top-shelf”.  For a long time, I had no idea what this meant, other than I would have to pay more for my cool beverage splurge.  Then, one day I was spoiled forever.

It was  couples date for dinner.  My wife and I were trying to decide what the appetizer should be for us off the menu, which is always the hardest thing to decide with our completely different palates.  My buddy looks at the waitress, and with no hesitation says, “Margarita, top-shelf”.  At first, I was a little taken back.  It was the first time my wife and I had met “this new girlfriend of his”, and maybe it was his way of showing off a little.  In an attempt to not look like a cheapskate, of course I followed suit.

What proceeded to arrive, was nothing short of extraordinary.  We received special glasses, as well as a special shaker for the Margarita to be poured from.  The waitress delivered it to our table, like we had ordered Baked Alaska.  “What a show!” I thought to myself, however acting cool, like this sort of thing happened all the time to me.  The taste of the Margarita was the best I had ever had.  “No more sour, awkward gut-wrenching tastes for me!”  The Margarita in my mind had forever changed.  What an experience.  Isn’t this a huge part of life…the experience?

This is the kind of experience I now look for everywhere in my life.  Why would you want to live a life of bottom-shelf?  I want my food top-shelf.  I want my health to be top-shelf, and I expect my chiropractic care to be top-shelf.  Life is just too short to live any other way.

Chiropractic care helps you live your life top-shelf.
