Does birth trauma have anything to do with Autism? While this question has not been fully answered, there is a large amount of evidence of a correlation between nervous system injury and cognitive/psychological problems. In fact, I see this quite a bit in my office: Patients with cognitive decline seldom have a healthy spine and nervous system. Many of us forget that the nervous system contains the brain. It is impossible for the nervous system to be injured and not have it impact the brain.
As a Chiropractor, I look to the spine and nervous system for issues. When we find them, we correct them as early as possible. So, it makes sense to get kids checked at birth, no matter the symptoms seen at that time. Afterall, ADD or Autism doesn’t have obvious symptoms this early in life. When in doubt, let’s check!
