simplicity Pt 2

So, maybe I made it a little too simple last post. That can happen, right? One can make things really too simple.

Definition of simplicity:  Freedom from complexity.

Wow, that sounds nice! What in your life is really too complicated right now?  Is it contributing TO your life as you want it, as you dreamed it would be?

Let’s make the choice to simplify the complex. If it is real, if it is important, and if it makes life better, it will be simple.

simplicity

Sometimes we try to make things harder than they actually are.  Why is it really necessary to know exactly how your nerve system works, in order to know that it should be interference free?

Usually the questions that we have about advice from a licensed professional are really not about the questions at all.

My guess is that the advice you hear may not be “easy”.  However, we must remind ourselves that if we would like to keep the results that we are presently experiencing from the health advice we have taken until now, then no work at all is required.

trust

It’s hard to do.  Whether we trust someone or something ultimately comes by way of our past experiences.  Let’s use a child as an example.  Not many experiences as of yet, depending on the age, so therefore is presented in front of a thing…..and has no reason to not trust it at all.  Children are the perfect example of blind faith.  If you tell a 2-year-old that there is a monster in the closet….they will believe you.

So, let’s see if we can use trust in our lives regarding our health.  You see, I think a lot of people lose trust in their own body’s potential to be healthy.

For example, you sit down in front of a doctor, for the 5th time, regarding the same symptoms that you had the other 4 times.  Your trust is starting to wane at this point, and rightfully so.

However, if you know what your definitions are, then you can trust the process.  So, what’s your definition of health?  Does health require time?  If so, how much time?  Can getting healthy involve symptoms increasing from time to time?

Wow!  These are a lot of questions.  If you have the right definition of health, the questions actually are not that difficult at all.  More importantly, if you know that you know what health really is, then it is easy to trust the process!

More on my definition of health next time, trust me!

order

There are many times that I am asked the following question, “When is it time to seek medical intervention?”  Some will tell you that everyone draws the line at a different place.  I guess you can look at it this way, however I see no reason anyone needs to draw the line any differently than anyone else…let me explain:

I ask myself the following questions, and based on the response determine if it is time to switch gears in healthcare for the patient, myself, my friends, or my family.  That is important, because to me it does not matter who it is, I act no differently for my family with regards to health, as I do my patients.

1-Is this person in distress?

2-Is this distress affecting basic survival mechanisms to not occur (to the point where life seems to be quite delicate), such as breathing, eating, or elimination? If yes, then time for medical intervention until able to heal naturally.

3-Is the nerve system (the master control system) of this individual working properly?  If no, then adjust it.

4-If they are eating and drinking, is it, and has it been, proper? If no, then change it.

5-Is there an external stress that needs to be addressed for this individual to move forward?  If so, then get rid of it.

In all situations of health disturbance, there is the tendency for someone to over react.  This is common, and it is usually based on emotions.  You have to take emotions out of the questions, and out of the situation in order to get the proper steps accomplished for the betterment of health.

For example, I know your mother died of cancer, and I realize you have a lump on your kidney.  However, the kidney is working properly, due to the tests that you performed, and the lump came back as non cancerous….so lets not take your organs out please!

Everyday, women are having their breasts removed because their parents had breast cancer.  The organs are there for a purpose.  Remove the emotions, go through the questions, and restore the proper order to health.

Top shelf

In Texas, when you order a Margarita, the opportunities for that Margarita are endless.  You can order it many different ways, however there will usually be an option for “top-shelf”.  For a long time, I had no idea what this meant, other than I would have to pay more for my cool beverage splurge.  Then, one day I was spoiled forever.

It was  couples date for dinner.  My wife and I were trying to decide what the appetizer should be for us off the menu, which is always the hardest thing to decide with our completely different palates.  My buddy looks at the waitress, and with no hesitation says, “Margarita, top-shelf”.  At first, I was a little taken back.  It was the first time my wife and I had met “this new girlfriend of his”, and maybe it was his way of showing off a little.  In an attempt to not look like a cheapskate, of course I followed suit.

What proceeded to arrive, was nothing short of extraordinary.  We received special glasses, as well as a special shaker for the Margarita to be poured from.  The waitress delivered it to our table, like we had ordered Baked Alaska.  “What a show!” I thought to myself, however acting cool, like this sort of thing happened all the time to me.  The taste of the Margarita was the best I had ever had.  “No more sour, awkward gut-wrenching tastes for me!”  The Margarita in my mind had forever changed.  What an experience.  Isn’t this a huge part of life…the experience?

This is the kind of experience I now look for everywhere in my life.  Why would you want to live a life of bottom-shelf?  I want my food top-shelf.  I want my health to be top-shelf, and I expect my chiropractic care to be top-shelf.  Life is just too short to live any other way.

Chiropractic care helps you live your life top-shelf.

Success

Procrastination is the enemy of success:

  • Eat better now or wait till the first of the month.
  • Exercise starts today, or wait for the gym to have a discount.
  • Cook at home today, or wait till you are hungry and order pizza.
  • Hug your child now, or wait till he doesn’t have snot all over his face.
  • Call the Chiropractor today, or wait till you are in pain.

“Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is heavy.” ~Wayne Dyer
