So, what is it going to take to make a change? I believe it is safe to say that we all know what it would take to live a healthier life. Maybe you are not a nutrition expert, for example, however you know that you don’t eat as much vegetables as you should. Maybe you also realize you should drink more water, and you realize this is an easy thing to do, as water is not costly at all….yet you choose to drink more cola than water day after day.
Sure, some things are really hard to kick, like that smoking habit that you have. However, there are things that you can do right now that would make a positive impact on your life by saving you money, improving the quality time with your loved ones, and increase your enjoyment of the days that you have left on this planet as we know it.
So, right now decide to make that change. Much research shows that it is better to make small changes one by one over time, compared to making huge changes all at once. One positive change per month is not much at all, however can really impact your life. Do it now. Don’t wait for the consequences to build up. Decide right now, what it is going to take.
Living with eyes wide open means that we remove the blinders (see last post, “blinders”http://drmatthewmix.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/blinders/). It can be a little frightening, opening your eyes to everything that is available, thereby living in a “different” world. Obviously we all live in the same world, yet we experience this world differently based on how we choose to experience it. Not many understand this, and not many realize that they have ever made a choice on how to experience their world.
Choose to open your eyes to everything. This means that you will see the brokenness in this world, and you will see the love as well. There are both sides to humanity, and it is necessary to know, if we are to be healthy individuals living life without limitations…blinders being a huge limitation to who you will become. In your quest to see everything for what it is, let me give you a suggestion of where to start. For there is an elephant in the halls that no one seems to want to talk about and that is your immune system.
You immune system is the most valuable possession, and therefore should be where you spend your time, energy, and money. You should protect your immune system like nothing else. Your life depends on your immune system, and if you really live with your eyes wide open, you will see that there are attacks to your immune system daily that need attention.
Have you ever seen horse blinders? At Mardi Gras time, almost every horse has them. The goal is to keep the horse focused on the path in front…directly in front of the horse. The other goal is to not allow distractions from the people on the outside. Unfortunately, situations on the sides need to be seen.
I’m going to say something that you really need to be ready for. Based on the people who I come into contact on a regular basis….and it matters not which country I am in. I have been in the poorest of countries, and the best of neighborhoods, and I see massive blinding. So here is the blinding that is hurting your health:
The fundamental incorrect belief that you need pills, lotions, and other “stuff” to be healthy.
Let that sink in for a little bit. Then ask yourself whether or not you are happy with your current level of health.
There is a better way. All healing happens inside. You don’t need a thing to be healthy….you just need no interruption to the naturally healthy you.
See www.adjustchiro.com for more information. Take off the blinders now, your health depends on it.
It’s interesting how we change to suit our environment. This inborn ability to adapt and change is seen in animals easily, like when a lizard changes color to suit its background. Our change is not so obvious, however it does happen. When it’s cold outside, for example, our skin texture literally changes. We call it a cute name, like “goose bumps”, however it’s an extraordinary way our body keeps us warm. Another change is when we stay in the water too long, and our hands start to wrinkle up. Imagine if all the water in the bath would just leach into your body! What a massive, terrible effect this would have on your ability to control your inner balance.
To think that some adaptations as these are good, and others are bad, and in need of our intervention constantly amazes me. How do you know what the temperature your body needs to be when fighting a harmful invader to your system? Yet, at the first sign of a “high” temperature, we take our children straight to the emergency room!
I love the fact that I don’t have to know what my temperature needs to be. I also don’t know what my blood pressure should be at any given time. All I need to know is that I have the power to heal. I have a clear nerve system that keeps all my processes of my body functioning perfectly. I just need to not get in the way with thoughts of how the body should and shouldn’t be working. If I can do that, I will be everything I am supposed to be, per my Innate’s discretion.
In gossip, there is always a message. Usually it’s interesting, and hopefully something that the receiver of the message has not heard yet. The speaker of the message usually does not know the entire story, and even as they say it, there is some doubt that the true meaning of what they are saying is probably not 100% accurate, even to themselves.
A poorly functioning nerve system is like gossip. There is a message that is present, however the message is distorted. Just like any communication, it is important to understand the true meaning of the message before any conclusions are drawn, or actions are carried out.
Your brain is the sender. When interruptions are present in the communication between your brain and body, you will not get the proper actions. If those actions involve a healthy immune system, then your body is at a weakened state of defense.
Stop the nerve system gossip by getting your nerve system checked and interference to it removed as often as your chiropractor deems necessary, if true health is a goal of yours.
Routines can be good or bad, as is everything with life. One little change in your normal routine, and the entire habit loop is interrupted. Or even more interesting, the initiator of the routine occurs on the wrong day, wrong time, wrong place, and here you are going through the motions. For example, you wake up to your alarm that was not supposed to be set on Sunday, and start going through the ritual of going to work. How embarrassing, yet relieving that you can just slip back into bed!
Are you just going through the motions, or is it time to re-think your actions to make sure they are creating the type of lifestyle you want? Chances are that right now there are routines in all of our lives that could change for the better.
