Why expect more?

Why expect more?

Why do we expect more out of your health?

We have seen some pretty great transformations in some pretty train-wrecked people, thats why.

Imagine if you had a crew show up to build your home. This crew had some of the best foundation workers, concrete preparers, sheetrock guys, and roofers. They showed up with not only the fastest crew, but a crew that could make the most precise cuts for your tile work. Not only did the best crew sho, but this crew showed up with all the tools for the job. The shovels, hammers, levels and even the power tools. The crew was really on the ball. But, there was just one problem: Everyone showed up but one guy, the guy with the plans.

What happened?

Unfortunately, even the best crew with the best tools cannot build the simplest home without the instructions.

Your nerve system communicates the instructions. If you have all the pieces (organs, glands, and tissues), yet you have poor communications of the work to be done then the outcome will be less than desirable. This is where chiropractic comes in.

The intelligence

We understand that the human body is a marvelous machine, which can accomplish amazing things. We know that there is an amazing intelligence within you that is in control of all actions, adapting you to the environment you live.
Innate intelligence is a term that chiropractors use to label the intelligent power within each and every living thing. This powerful maestro orchestrates life itself. Knowing what chemicals need to be filtered to breathe, and being able to use this polluted environment we live in at times to thrive is no small feat. These are just a few examples of your innate intelligence’s job.
Honoring this innate intelligence means trusting your body, not stressing it when possible, and acknowledging that you are not a random heap of materials that lives in a poorly organized fashion. You were powerfully made, and your innate intelligence needs no interference. This is called “thinking inside-out”. This is how we approach your health at Adjust.img_0279

Super Bowl Greatness

Super Bowl Greatness

Why do people get so excited about football?
Of course, it is marketed extremely well.
Then there’s the bright lights, performances from the greatest artists at halftime.
However, why care about football at all?
I believe it is because people want what these Super Bowl players seem to possess: GREATNESS
It is our basic need to be significant. We want to be great at what we choose to do. No matter what we choose, it is our choice and therefore significant to us!

This begs the question, “How do I become great?”
Simply, greatness starts with great health.

No matter how much talent a person possesses, without great health, that talent will never shine.

*Spoiler alert: Most often, the healthiest team wins it all. It really is that simple.

Of course, you are likely not playing in a Super Bowl. However, does that mean your health is somehow not as important? You have goals and aspirations just like Drew Brees does. Sure, his physical prowess is obviously important, but it is not as important as yours and mine.

Get healthy first, then do great things.. @Adjust

Big Mistake

Often when people come to the conclusion that they have failed their health without knowing, despair can be seen. This is totally understandable. They should be disappointed, they should be mad! Imagine focusing your life on things you believe will bring security:

  • Paying of your mortgage on or ahead of time.
  • Showing up to church on Sunday to keep the kids focused on good, healthy spiritual habits for their future.
  • Walking 3 times a week to help your mental stress, as well as keep the weight from accumulating.
  • Picking the side salad at one meal per day.10635804_10154711540875657_3083997867570965628_n

The list goes on and on. However the BIG MISTAKE is not focusing on the one thing you cannot live without: a healthy nerve system.

Technology allows a chiropractor to check the health of your nerve system. There is no guesswork, we now know whether your nerve system is functioning properly. If not, we know how to make changes to positively affect the health of your nerve system.

Isn’t that normal?

Often, a 35-50 year old individual, whom initially enters my office, believes that it is normal to feel fatigue midday. They chalk it up to kids, age, stress at work, spousal issues, etc. No doubt, there will always be times when stress will get us down.

However, regular fatigue by 2pm is not normal at all. Fatigue is the body’s way of trying to get you to slow down. Honestly, most of us in our current work environments are not really working as hard as we use to 500 years ago. If you are hunting for 6 hours, walking and running great distances to catch your food, a midday nap is acceptable. However, if your workday consists of simple chores around the house, some computer work, checking emails, and running a couple of errands, then you should have plenty of energy left for the afternoon.

This message you are receiving from your body is this: you are not recovering properly. I have found these are the 3 most likely reasons:

  1. Your immune system is working too hard.
  2. Your adrenal glands are overworked (often noticed by poor quality sleep).
  3. Your digestion is not properly assimilating the nutrients as it should.

So what to do? Do we take more vitamins, drink more coffee, step it up to a Monster Energy? Um….no. For long-term, positively-affecting-health changes try this:

  1. Work on your ability to adapt. This is what it means to not recover properly. I talk about this on YouTube. Check it out here.
  2. Take time to consider the power of your innate intelligence.
  3. Get adjusted. Your ability to handle stress properly is directly proportional to the health of your spine and nerve system. Find a chiropractor that measures your nerve system, utilizes pure chiropractic techniques and has an understanding of your health goals.

Down time

Down time.

190298_1823787627413_1021898402_2126896_5426505_n

I have to admit, I am a little uncomfortable with “down time”. No doubt, time for your body to recover, for the mind to rest, or for relaxation is important. However, “down time” should never go against the ultimate purpose for our lives. My purpose is so clear to me that I know what down time should and should not look like.

If down time is time away from my son, I’m not interested. I work too hard for that down time. For my wife, however, down time is time spent more on herself…because she is around our son all day long..well at least for the summer!

Innate intelligence (that “thing” that heals and maintains us in existence) has no down time. All the time, innate intel. is on the job. It keeps you functioning in the crazy world you choose to function. You push your body on the weekend, innate intel. has it covered. You choose to veg. out on the sofa on Sunday morning watching cartoons, innate intel. has all the chores checked off for the radical change in your activity level.

One day your innate intel. will have downtime. Until then, I suggest we live our life FILLED with experiences that enrich the lives around us. One can do this best with an innate intel. that is uninterrupted…the meaning of living a subluxation-free life.

When looking at an x-ray, like the one above, it is important to understand a few things:

  1. This curve was not always this way. Most of us have a great curve in our neck before we can walk properly, it helps with balance.
  2. It is a common condition, yet it does not have to be. The curvature in the spine gets changed like the one above from a condition called vertebral subluxation.
  3. This can and should be corrected for proper functioning of the nerve system, which leads to a healthier existence.

Experience

We have this couple that use to live in our town. In fact, they use to life in my neighborhood. They were so unhappy. They were unhappy with the school system, the roadways, the H.O.A., the golf course, the bike paths, the nature trails and even the garbage collection companies. They were so unhappy, I did my best to avoid this couple at every opportunity. You see, I did not want my EXPERIENCE to be dictated by them.

This is an important lesson to be learned. Are we allowing others to determine the type of experience we have on this planet. We have all heard the conversations about how time is fleeting…but what are we doing about it?

Right now, you decide what experience you would like to choose. Choose the best experience possible, and you are choosing to get rid of the leeches. Truth is, you are not helping them anyhow, or they wouldn’t be complaining so much! Kick them to the curb immediately, and move on to a better experience.IMG_1634

Intelligence is number one

Your life experience is determined by your innate intelligence, through your nerve system. Literally, without the intelligent innate intelligence that we all posses, the pieces of what we see in the mirror, or under a microscope are useless. We are more than the parts could ever be. So, let’s not say terms like, “the body heals itself.” It doesn’t. The body is nothing without the intelligence that resides within it.

Do we know exactly how it all works? Of course not.

Knowing the details of how my smart phone work is not important for me in order to be able to utilize the device for my benefit. The same can be said about your innate intelligence.

Why does this matter? Well, words have meaning. Denying the existence of an intelligent design could allow you to make decisions that are not in your best interest…or worse yet, not in the best interest of a loved one.baby hand

Distractions

Recently, it is near impossible to hear the distractions. In fact, it seems our entire society is distracted.80300-1

  • Distracted by the media.
  • Distracted by Pokemon Go, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat
  • Distracted by text messages, e-mails and ear buds.
  • Distracted by corporate sales pitches.
  • Distracted by multi-level-marketing companies.
  • Distracted by “reality t.v.”

Sometimes we can be so distracted by these things above, that we lose touch with what is really important to us.

I cannot tell you what is important to you. I can tell you what is important to me and my patients, friends, and family: EXPERIENCE.

How is your life experience?

Does your current engagement in distractions increase or decrease your life experience?

Stay tuned to what matters, next time we will talk about your experiences.
